This quarter, the central idea for Reception was ‘stories can engage their audience and communicate meaning’ and for this unit, students read and explored different stories. Learning about the three main elements in creating a story – setting, plot (beginning, middle and end) and characters – as part of our lessons, we conducted various fun, engaging activities such as role-playing. Also, students were given a chance to do a stage play during the Early Years Story-Telling Day – opting for ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’! Given free rein to express themselves creatively, it was such a joy to see them performing on stage for proud parents and other PYP kids. |  |
